The Department of Health and Social Care has issued a framework to support the planning and organisation of adult social care during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
The framework is intended to support planners and strategic policymakers with a statutory responsibility in adult social care as well as support the work of professionals and others in the health and social care workforce who are developing policies and responding to the outbreak.
The Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) played a key role in the framework’s development. The new framework highlights that occupational therapists have an important role to play in social care and are key to ensuring this framework is applied and understood.
Find full details of the framework can be found here.
The Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) is closely monitoring the evolving situation and following the latest government advice as issued. RCOT guidance on COVID-19 is being regularly updated and members can stay up to date by checking the website and following @TheRCOT.
