The Challenge
With the lockdown we are unable to provide face to face appointments with families unless absolutely essential. I work with children/young people who have equipment which requires regular alteration to accommodate for growth and postural changes.
The Change
I used a video link with a parent to support her to make the necessary adjustments to a functional chair to meet the needs of her child. I was able to see the young person in the chair as each adjustment was made and give feedback to the parent.
The Impact
Without the use of remote video link the parent would not have been able to confidently make the necessary adjustments to the chair. This enabled a good sitting position for the young person for activities such as feeding and play.
