The Challenge
Mr S was an older professional man who was really struggling to get up and down his stairs. He commissioned me to write a report so his local authority would supply him with a stair lift. When I visited him, he demonstrated how difficult it was.
The Change
He had already checked that the local authority would accept a report from an independent occupational therapist, because they had a six-month waiting list for a visit from their local authority occupational therapists.
The Impact
The local authority accepted my report for a DFG and provided him with a level access shower and the longed-for stair lift. He will be able to continue to live in his own house with his wife for many years to come.
