Hand and wrist orthoses for adults with rheumatological conditions
Practice guideline for occupational therapists (second edition)
This publication provides evidence-based recommendations for occupational therapists working with adults who may benefit from a hand or wrist orthosis as an intervention for a rheumatological condition. Physiotherapists, hand therapists, orthotists and others who prescribe or use othoses may refer to the guideline to inform their practice.
We’ve added an addendum to this guideline that includes new recommendations on the use of compression gloves for patients with rheumatoid or another form of arthritis.
