The Challenge
The challenge was to provide activities to patients in Low Secure and Rehabilitation and Recovery Units, that had contracted Covid19 and were self isolating in their bedrooms for up to 14 days!
The Change
To reduce foot fall but also continue to support and encourage isolating patients engagement in meaningful activities, the OT team were able to make self-lead activity packs, that included: Distraction activities, Mindfulness and Colouring packs.
The Impact
Boxes of packs were delivered to the ward, for ward staff to distribute. As all packs were planned to include self lead activities that could be completed independently in the patients bedroom, isolating patients were enabled to engage with OT.
