The Challenge
Like many trusts, our hospital staff have been significantly affected by COVID-19. In 2020, the need for rehabilitation of staff with Long COVID was steadily growing.
The Change
With our existing OH OT experience in providing work rehabilitation for staff with chronic illness, we felt well placed to support these staff members. We networked, utilised guidance and piloted a Long COVID work rehabilitation programme.
The Impact
All staff have improved health matrices and 80% have now returned to work. The results have supported our Occupational Health team to apply for funding to run an Multi-disciplinary Team Long COVID work rehabilitation programme.
