The Challenge
On our role emerging placement at a befriending and mentoring charity, COVID 19 restrictions prevented us from working with the clients. We noticed the impact the complex issues of the clients were having on the staff’s mental health and wellbeing.
The Change
We introduced a coffee morning for staff, the coffee morning would give the staff time to relax and share with each other in an informal setting about how they were feeling. We also introduced an idea of an activity during each coffee morning.
The Impact
The first coffee morning had a drawing activity, you could see the confidence within the staff grow in 30mins. The feedback from the manager was that the confidence remained all day and that they felt they had grown as a team to support each other.
