Introduction to static splinting of the wrist and hand_C551

Trainer: Ella Donnison, Hand Occupational Therapist, BSc Occupational Therapy/MSc Hand Therapy/Accredited Hand Therapist (BAHT). This one-day course will comprise of formal teaching and the fabrication of an array of splints including finger, thumb and hand and is suitable for physiotherapists and occupational therapists. Course aims: to develop knowledge and skills in: the underpinning theory for static splinting and important anatomical considerations; the increased awareness of how to create splint patterns for an array of hand and wrist splints; the handling of an array of thermoplastic material through the fabrication of an array of hand and wrist splints. CPD: 6 hours.
