Occupational Performance Coaching (OPC)

As part of our new and improved member offer, we hosted the Occupational Performance Coaching (OPC) course in June 2023. Members were invited to join OPC trainers Lucy Charles and Arul Hamill from New Zealand for three half-days, for a highly-subsidised rate.

Leanne Rouse – a Specialist Occupational Therapist with Communicate 2U and Selly Oak Trust School, in Birmingham – attended the course and shared one of the key learning points. It is “the acceptance that as a practitioner I do not always have to provide the answers”, she reflected, “A power dynamic shift is incredibly effective for both the client and the practitioner.” On how it will impact her practice, she added, “I have since reflected upon many historical interactions I have had with professionals where the OPC approach would have afforded me to feel empowered”.

After the last course sold out in just hours, we have secured an additional opportunity for members to attend the OPC course in January 2024! The course will run virtually, on the mornings of 15, 16 and 17 January, with a follow-up session on 15 February 2024. The course is available exclusively for CYPF members and is being offered at the highly-subsidised rate of only £50!
