On the course, I have enjoyed the different ways in which we learn – it’s not just sitting in a lecture theatre! You are encouraged to get up, get involved and develop your skills. And meeting all the other wonderful students!
I have learnt that OT is a very broad and unique practice, no two days will ever be the same! It can make a huge difference to people’s lives, something that is now being recognised more than ever and hopefully means big things for occupational therapy in the next few years!
I think the practical and varied ways in which we learn at university – from role play to Virtual Learning Experiences – enables us to build a diverse skill set as well as in-depth and up to date knowledge ready for employment.
To anyone thinking about studying to be an occupational therapist, I would say go for it!! It’s an amazing career choice and the best decision I’ve made!
