Alison influences policy and decision makers in Scotland with the support of RCOT members for the benefit of the occupational therapy profession and its workforce.
Alison recognises that occupational therapists have core skills that make them effective leaders for their services and people that use services. They passionate about raising the profile of occupational therapy and realising the full potential of the profession.
Alison’s key area of work is Scotland's National Care Service and ensuring that occupational therapy and rehabilitation are key components to the future health and social care system, occupational therapy workforce, expanding the visibility of occupational therapy within primary care, occupational therapy’s offer within mental health services and improving access to rehabilitation for all in Scotland. Alison is also focused on rehabilitation and believes everyone in Scotland has a right to effective rehabilitation.
