The specialist section mental health e-journal club is run on the first Wednesday of every other month virtually at 7pm-8pm. The event is open to Specialist Section members and is free of charge.
This is a great opportunity to add to your CPD portfolio and engage in discussions on up-to-date research with your peers. We are highlighting the importance of research to inform evidence-based practice for practitioners. The exploration of how to transfer research into practice is an essential step to support existent care provision and encourage improvement to services.
Journal for exploration on 7 February is:
Roberts E, Skipsey J. 2021. Exploring occupation in recovery from bulimia nervosa: An interpretative phenomenological analysis. British Journal of Occupational Therapy. 85(7):487-495. doi:10.1177/03080226211045289
To keep the virtual e-journal club manageable we will have a maximum capacity of the first 25 members to respond.
What will happen:
- If you are interested in participating, please sign up via RCOT Events page
- The first 25 participants will be asked to read the article and complete a short critical review form in preparation for the journal club. We ask that this is completed so the journal club can be prompt in delving into discussion.
- The virtual e-journal club will take place on zoom and will be recorded for purposes of transcribing key points.
- Key points and summary will be sent to each participant along with a thank you for attending email for CPD portfolio.
We appreciate suggestions of areas of interest or specific articles (within three years of publication) to include more targeted journals for our members. Any suggestions you may have, please email to enquires.cotssmh@gmail.com
