RCOT Specialist Section - Trauma and Musculoskeletal Health
We promote best practice in occupational therapy within the clinical specialities of Trauma and Orthopaedics/MSK, Critical Care, Prosthetics and Orthotics Rehabilitation services (PARS), Pain, and, Rheumatology/MSK.
We work throughout the United Kingdom and influence national policy as well as participate in research, innovation and national audit projects.
We create a sense of support and community through clinical forum leads and NEC leadership, monthly newsletters, webinars, national annual conference as well as chat and network forums using social media and WhatsApp platforms.
We have nearly 400 members across 5 clinical forums that make up this specialist section . As part of your membership you can be a member of one, some or all of the 5 clinical forums which might be relevant to you.
Members work in a variety of settings including:
- Acute Hospitals
- Health and social care departments
- Independent practice
- Academia
We work closely with other related organisations and professionals with a similar interest. We share and exchange knowledge, skills and ideas and provide access to resource material to promote research and evidence-based practice.
